Battle Bot

Introduction

This project involved designing and building a competition-style antweight battlebot using custom mechanical and electronic systems. The goal was to gain hands-on experience in mechanical design, electronics integration, motor control, and iterative prototyping while developing a combat-ready robot.

Antweight Malenki System

What?

  • Designed and built an antweight vertical spinner battlebot

  • Developed two iterations (V1 and V2) to improve durability, balance, and serviceability

  • Integrated a high-speed spinner weapon system for impact-based combat

  • Built a compact drivetrain and chassis layout optimized for weight and reliability

  • Used custom 3D printed parts to mount and organize internal components

How?

  • Used a Malenki Nano ESC and brushless motors for drivetrain and weapon control

  • Designed and printed custom structural components to support the spinner system

  • Built a fully soldered wiring harness to ensure reliable electrical connections

  • Tuned motor control and balance to maintain stability during weapon spin-up

  • Iteratively tested, diagnosed failures, and rebuilt improved versions

Results:

  • Successfully built a functional vertical spinner antweight battlebot

  • Improved durability and internal layout between V1 and V2 iterations

  • Achieved reliable drivetrain control and high-speed weapon operation

  • Developed practical skills in mechanical design, electronics, soldering, and iterative engineering
